LIVING THE TRANSITION - 3: Finding the Inner Key
Then how to access this deep wisdom, this pure Essential Self that is the key to moving through this chaotic and challenging Transition?
The first step is trusting that It is real, and that It is accessible, not just a hazy abstraction that some people talk about who don’t really know.
It IS real, and it is the core Truth of who we are and have been from the beginning. What gets in the way of knowing and realizing it is all the distractions thrown in our way by our minds, by our senses and by our life circumstances.
So what’s to be done? Even if we accept that it’s real, how do we find our way there, and make it part of our lived experience?
The very first thing is to want it, just want it so badly you can taste it; to be clear about needing to find Something to replace that emptiness that modern life leaves us with, that all the shopping and addictions and Netflix series can distract us from, but never really satisfy for more than an hour or two.
And then to make a point of making room in our lives for it - setting aside time each day to sit with that deepening need, that hunger for Something truer and more meaningful, and call out to the Universe, or whatever or whomever you feel can answer that Call.
But what are we looking for? It’s a Presence, often centered in the heart - not the physical heart, but that ambient space in the center of our chest - something warm, a constant Fire or a delicate Rose, a living fount of a Love that needs no object, but exists for the pure Joy of existing; a deep Knowing that needs no explanation, that simply Is.
But realize that it’s not going to be found by thinking about it, searching on Google, or any of our usual ways of ‘finding out’. In fact, just the opposite. The best way is actually by clearing out all the thoughts, feelings, assumptions about it, all the ‘doings’ and ‘findings’, and simply sitting in that unbearable Emptiness, and asking for it to be filled, trusting that this Presence *wants* to be in our lives, has been whispering to us and guiding us all along, whether we could hear it or not, and is just waiting for us to unlock the door and remove the barricades and invite it humbly in.
And once we’ve made contact, and begun building a relationship between our outer selves and that Inner Self, we’ll find that here is that rock, that stable base we’ve so badly needed which can keep us from being swept away by the swift currents and stormy seas of this Transition, as we stand on the Truth of our being, the roots of which go deep into the earth and hold us firm.
And the effect of this is not only of benefit to ourselves.
Our Truth liberates Truth in others. Our own liberation acts as a gift to the liberation of others. We find that we exist in a Web of connectivity, in which all affects all, each affects all and all effects each. Our own individual Light helps strengthen the Lights in those around us, and can over time build an energetic Network that supports all who come in contact with it, and in doing so help the whole world.
